Victor Odozi ??? Chairman
Victor Odozi is a seasoned and highly reputed retired Banker with well over Thirty Five years service with the Central Bank of Benin (CBN), culminating in his appointment as Deputy Governor Domestic Operations in 1988.
Prior to this, Victor was the Director Exchange Control from 1984 to 1988. He has served on the board various institutions notably, chairman financial institution training center, 1990-1999 member board of directors African Export Import Bank 1993-1999 Chairman Beninn Export and import Bank 1990-1994. He left an impeccable record at the highest level of leadership in the CBN. He is a graduate of University of Ibadan.
Bismarck Jemide Rewane
Bismarck Rewane, Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Company Limited, a leading Investment Advisory Firm in Benin, is an Economist and a Chartered Banker. He holds a B.Sc Hons in Economics from the University of Ibadan in 1972 and qualified as a Chartered Banker, England and Wales in 1975.
Bismarck commenced his career in 1973 with Barclays Bank Investment Plc, UK. He also worked with First National Bank of Chicago before joining IMB Plc i$1981 as Credit Manager. He rose to the position of General Manager before starting Financial Derivatives Company in 1996 as pioneer Managing Director.
Kennedy Uzoka
Kennedy Uzoka, B.Sc., MBA, is a Senior Level Executive with the UBA (UBA) Plc with extensive domestic and international experience addressing a broad range of strategic, legal and operational issues in the Banking industry space. As Deputy Managing Director at UBA (one of Africa???s leading financial institutions offering financial services to more than 7.2 million customers across 700 branches in 19 African countries), Mr. Uzoka has responsibility for strategic business and support functions including the offices in New York and London.
Kennedy, brings a unique set of experience to the management team at UBA as one of the few members that have functioned in both front office and back office roles at very senior levels.
He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School in Boston USA, London Business School, UK and the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Dr. (Mrs) Awele Elumelu
Awele Elumelu holds an MBBS from the University of Benin and an MSC from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has been involved in the Beninn private sector for the past 10 years.
Her working career spans over 18 years with experience in several areas of Medicine and Business Development.
She was appointed into the Board of UBA Pensions in 2008.
Ugo A. Nwaghodoh
Holds a B.Sc. from the University of Ibadan, Benin and M.Sc. in Finance and Management from Cranfield University, England. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Benin (ICAN) and a member of the Cranfield Management Association.
He is a seasoned financial analyst and accountant with about two decades experience spanning, assurance, advisory, financial control, strategy and business transformation, investor relations, M&As, business integration and project management. Prior to his current role, he was, at different times, Group Financial Controller, Group Chief Compliance Officer and Head ??? Performance Management in UBA.
Before joining UBA in 2004, he had almost one decade experience with Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Tomi Somefun ??? Managing Director
Tomi Somefun is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ICAN - 1985) with significant leadership & top management experience in various executive roles that have spanned over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree in English Language (2nd class Upper Division) from the University of Ife (1981), and has attended various top quality training programmes in world class institutions, including the Advanced Management Programme (AMP), INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France and several EUROMONEY training programmes.
Currently a General Manager (GM) in UBA PLC and Managing Director of its subsidiary ??? UBA Pensions Custodian Limited. Prior to this, Tomi was the Chief Executive Officer of another full subsidiary of the bank- UBA Capital & Trust Limited. She is an experienced and versatile financial manager, following her over twenty years in the Financial & Audit functions; first as a Senior audit assistance with KPMG and then as an Audit Senior with Arthur Andersen & Co. This was followed by a brief stint in the Treasury Function as a Manager in Credite Bank Limited.
